We're so excited about the upcoming release of STROKED by Meghan Quinn! Check out this amazing cover!

STROKED by Meghan Quinn
Scheduled to release: July 20, 2016
NA Romantic Comedy

BLURB

Reese King: Olympic medalist, underwear model, Greek god.

His body is chiseled from rock, sculpted by the weight room, and refined by water.

On a daily basis his skin is completely bare for everyone to see, tan and defined, only covered up by a minuscule piece of spandex. There is no denying his sex appeal.

I hate to admit it, but I’m head over heels infatuated with him.

There is one HUGE problem though. His achingly gorgeous abs, inked up arm, and cocky swagger belong to my boss, the high-profile, reality star bitch from hell and certified heinous human being, Bellini Chambers.

What I think is going to be an easy job assisting a glorified wench turns into a cluster f*ck of epic proportions.

About The Author

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if "It's Raining Men" starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing... enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Excerpt

Unedited Excerpt – Subject to change – Copyright 2016 Clarissa Wild

“Why am I still here?” she whispers as my hand disappears into her panties.

“Because you want me. Because you can’t leave.” I slide my fingers between her slit. Her folds are already wet for me, even before I’ve laid a hand on her. I grin against her skin, finally understanding why I want her so much. She needs it rough … and rough is all I am.

“You used this against me, Lexi …” I whisper in her ear. “Used your pussy as a tool to get information.”

“It wasn’t just that …”

“Show it to me then.”

The nightgown falls down to the floor, exposing her naked body right in front of the open window. But with no one around, neither of us cares. I’m going for the kill.

“Make me believe the lie that’s us,” I say, rubbing her clit.

“It’s not a lie …” she murmurs, her breaths coming out in short gasps.

“You only say that because my hand is around your throat,” I say, dipping my finger into her pussy. She gasps out loud as I go deep and swirl around inside her. “Because I own this pussy.”

“Fuck …” she moans.

I groan and then pull away, releasing her from my grip entirely. A confused Alexis turns around and props herself against the windowsill, her eyes pleading with me as I walk backward. My cock is hard, but my desire to know where we stand is much more urgent. Her legs draw together and she clutches her body as another draft enters through the window, her nipples peaking from the cold.

I can’t help biting my lip as I watch her become befuddled while I sit down on the chair on the opposite end of the room.

“Go on then …” I say, rubbing my bottom lip with my index finger. “Carry on with the little show you had going in my workroom.”

She stares at me for a few seconds before leaning back. Her eyes glance over her shoulder to the opened window. I wonder if she’s thinking what I’m thinking. If she’s hesitating … trying to decide whether to run or stay … if she wants me more than her freedom.

But then her eyes settle on me as I zip down my pants and pull out my cock.

There’s a gleam of desire in her eyes … one that makes me grab a hold of the base and say, “You want this? You can have it … after you show me you really want it.”

My Review

This is the first book I've read by this author but I was intrigued by the whole Beauty and the Beast vibe so I thought I'd give it a go. On the whole I actually enjoyed it a lot, but I did have a few problems with it.

Alexis is a down on her luck girl that has lived on the streets for much of her life. She has turned to prostitution to help support herself and her younger sister. She gets a request from her pimp to dance for a new client. Things don't go exactly as planned however and she finds herself pulled into an even worse situation than the one she started off in.

There action starts pretty much straight away. I liked both mc's and could connect with them both. Viktor is typically 'beastly' and growls a lot but has a softer underside. Alexis is strong and sassy and I liked the interaction between them which was super hot and sexy.

The writing was good and the plot flowed with some twists thrown in.

Now we come to the only real problem I had with this. I understand this author is known for her 'darker' reads, which is fine by me, I'm practically unshockable and will read anything. I was told that this was not as dark as some of her other books but was still classed as a dark read. Therein lies my problem. To me it didn't read as dark, even though the subject matter was gritty. Everyone was a bit too nice for my liking and the characters had a pretty blasé attitude to certain dangers thrown at them in the plot. I'm not one for giving away spoilers and I won't here, but their reactions just didn't ring true for me a lot of the time, so the darker sides of the plot just didn't quite seem as serious to me as they probably should have been. I wouldn't attempt to put anyone off by this however. This is my opinion and everyone is different and as I said I did enjoy the book a lot, I just wanted to feel a bit more danger lol.

This is a good romance story about two good characters and I would recommend. It can be read completely as a standalone.

All in all a good read. I would read more from this author in the future.

I haven’t stopped wanting her since I slept with her the night before she left. She’s trouble. Always has been. It’s hard to resist the thing you’ve always wanted… Growing up with Brandon Archer means I know him. Good. Bad. Everything in between. It’s just never mattered. My secret? That night. Everything can change with a knock at the door… Secrets. Everyone has them. Archer. Me. This town. Perfection only runs surface deep in Green County.   EXCERPT
Some people say you can't go home again. And that is a complete pile of bullshit. You can. It just won't be home. I should know. I did it. Green County doesn't change. It's been four years since I bolted and six months since I sucked up all my pride and ego and came back. And it still struck me as strange. Green Co was exactly the same. Same ridiculous festivals. Same leafy boulevards and parks filled with yoga moms and shrieking children. The same gossips line the coffee shop and eye me when I step in. They'll chatter my every move to Elijah later, cooing over him while warning that I was too skinny, too wild too rude too too too. They did the same thing in high school. Nothing changed in Green Co. If you want change you go somewhere else and you let it wrap you up tight and fight like hell to keep from being dragged back. Elijah gets pissy when I say shit like that. But Eli never left Green Co. Never felt the need to get out, to see and shape the world. He's always been more than happy to see and shape the County. And you know, he was right. He was good at it. I loved that he cared so much about Green Co. That he wanted to save the little Kansas county from itself. Someone had to. I flash the ladies a smile as I order two extra large iced coffees. Cindy grins at me, punching in the order and adding a slice of banana bread and her boxed lunch. “Long day, Hazel?” I smile, a half quirk of my lips that passes as a grin these days. “It’s a day ending in Y, Cins. Those are always long.” She gives me a smirk that tips toward worry. “You need a day off, sugar.” I make a face, and drop a twenty on the counter as I take my order. “I don’t even know what I’d do with that much free time.” She arches an eyebrow at me and I grin at her. “Hazel, my love,” Gabe says, sailing through the door of the coffee shop as I turn away from the counter. I swallow the grin before it twists into a smirk. “Gabriel,” I say, almost frosty and he laughs. Smug bastard. “We should carpool, love, if we’re going to keep meeting like this. Save the planet and all.” “Because you care so much about the damn planet,” I scoff, and he makes a face, all wounded dignity. The problem with that face is that I know Gabe. I've known him my whole life. Gabe is everything I ran away from when I left Green Co. Everything I wanted to forget. The smirk that means trouble and the too sharp eyes that sees right through my quick easy lies and watches with concern when I isolate. F*cking bastard is my neighbor. He's too damn close for comfort and too damn nosy for his own good. And coming from an investigative journalist, that's pretty f*cking nosy.

BLURB:
It finally happened, I lost my virginity. Cue applause and cheers.

For a while life was all rainbows and kittens prancing in a sky full of cotton candy clouds…that was until the demands of the real world set in.

My best friend is getting married and she asked me to be her maid of honor. She’s not worried about flowers, or the dress, or the food at the venue. No, she’s worried about the bachelorette party, what kind of penis crown she will wear, and the nipple size of the stripper who will be attending.

I’m in way over my head trying to balance life with a boyfriend, planning a penis party, and writing my romance novel. Something is bound to give.

This is my life after my happily ever after…

Excerpt:
Being a lube virgin, I wasn’t quite sure what to do with the thin liquid, so, I popped the top open, squatted ever so slightly with my legs spread as much as they could go, thanks to my underwear, and I pressed the lube up near my vagina. Taking a deep breath, I squeezed hard and shot the lube straight up into Virginia.

A cold wave of thin liquid coated my inner walls right before gravity took hold of it and brought it back down, straight into my underwear, my now appointed lube net.

“Crap,” I muttered, looking down at the pile of liquid sitting in the crotch of my underwear.

Bottle and balls in my hands, I stared at the mess and tried to decide what to do. The heaviness of the lube weighed down my underwear, so I shimmied them down my legs and toed them to the side to pick up after. Commando was sexy, I told myself.

Still eyeing the balls, I convinced myself I could do this. How hard could it really be? Taking a deep breath, I prayed there was enough lube still coating Virginia and slipped the first ball in. Easily I pushed it up and was pleased with the way it fit. With a little more confidence, I thumbed the second one inside and clenched. A small vibration rang through me . . . a pleasing sensation was I wasn’t expecting.

“Well, isn’t that delightful?” I said to myself.

Standing there, I felt comfortable; I could totally do this. More confident, I deposited my underwear and the empty lube bottle in the sanitary napkins trash can—sorry cleaning service—and wiped my hands with some toilet paper so I didn’t slick down the door handle.

Flushing the toilet, I exited, walking very slowly to the sink. With every step, my confidence wavered. I had to really think about each push forward, clenching as tight as I could, praying I didn’t strain my damn cervix.

Her bosom heaved at an alarming rate as his rough hand found its way down to her soft, yet wiry briar patch...

Can you say briar patch in a romance novel? What about meat sword? That’s what it is…a meat sword, right, all meaty and sword like, slaying through the inner dungeons of a woman’s dark desires. What about breasts? Do bosoms really heave?

God, I have no idea what happens when private parts touch.

I’m a virgin trying to write a romance novel and can’t seem to write past a sex scene thanks to my lack of experience.

My two best friends encourage me to drop the pen for a while and gain some real life practice through multiple dating facets such as blind dates, online profiles, and random hookups.

But losing my virginity is proving to be tougher than expected…

My Review

The Randy Romance NovelistThe Randy Romance Novelist by Meghan Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read The Virgin Romance Novelist last year and absolutely loved it! When I heard that this sequel was going to be released I was super excited and couldn't wait to read it.

Firstly, this book was hilarious from start to finish. I had some major laugh out loud moments while reading this. Rosie is an endearing disaster as always lol. I love reading her inner thoughts and I admire her enthusiasm, even if things don't always go to plan, which is more often than not. She's a great character and you can't help but love her.

Henry is just as awesome as he was in the first book. I love him and Rosie together. We also have some returning favourites from TVRN. Delaney, Rosie's best friend, is preparing, rather manically for her dream wedding. There is also a welcome return from Marta the demon waxer and how could we forget Rosie's feline nemesis? Good old Sir-Licks-A-Lot lol. It's not often you find an animal character that is better than a lot of human ones. This one has some major cattitude ;o)

This was a great fun ride and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. If you're a fan of some hilarious romantic fun full of bawdy humour, then you can't go wrong with this. I think you could probably read this without the first book and still enjoy it but I honestly wouldn't recommend it. This book is so much more enjoyable of you know the story before.

I would definitely recommend this and I can't wait to read more from this author.

Forever Rockers (The Rocker, #12)Forever Rockers by Terri Anne Browning
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It was bittersweet to read this book as it was the end of a fantastic series that I've really enjoyed, but I still couldn't wait to read it lol.

This book doesn't work as a standalone. You really won't know what is going on unless you have read the others in the series. This story centres mainly with Shane and Harper and their struggles. Harper is seeing her friends starting families and is struggling with it not happening to her. All this and a crazed fan thrown into the mix make for a great read.

Even though the main thread of this book is about Shane and Harper, it is really about all of them. It's life after the HEA which isn't always a bed of roses but a struggle to balance everything and make it work. This to me made it enjoyable to read. I loved catching up with the guys.

This was a great end to a super series but I still hope we'll see some of these guys pop up in future books. It's seems sad to let go of characters that have been a part of your life for so long.

I loved this and if you liked the rest of the series you will definitely love this.

That One MomentThat One Moment by Amy Daws
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Aww. I loved this!

Hayden and Vi are two supposedly broken people (I prefer a bit bent like the song lol) that are thrown together with the help of a pretty awesome dog their attraction is pretty much immediate, but can they overcome their pasts to embrace their future? I love books about broken MC's and this was no exception.

This story had it all. I pretty much went through the whole gamut of emotions reading this. It was emotional with plenty of angst and sadness but also humour and romance as well.

The characters were great. I loved Hayden and Vi. I enjoyed reading their journey together and loved how they grew together throughout the book. There was also some great side characters as well. I especially loved Vi's brothers.

The writing was great and the plot flowed well. I'm a Brit and I enjoyed the Britishisms (is that a word? It is now! lol). It was a nice touch and added some extra depth. Coming from a US author it was really cool and showed that she cared about her characters enough to be authentic. I definitely appreciated that.

All in all a great read. I would definitely recommend.
