Blurb
Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a fa├žade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . .

My Review

The Bachelor Auction (The Bachelors of Arizona, #1)The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Aww! I really loved this. A super sweet but sexy modern rework of Cinderella as only the fantastic Rachel Van Dyken can do. I'm a big fan of her writing, she has a totally unique but addictive style that I really enjoy.

This story follows Brock, the bachelor up for auction in the title. He feels that he has to take responsibility for his family and has difficulty saying no, especially to his rather ornery grandfather. He agrees to be auctioned for charity, obstensibly for a date but he knows his grandfather is hoping he'll find a bride. He's none too impressed but agrees to the scheme. He meets a damsel in distress at a party and things get a bit complicated from there.

This book was great fun! All the characters were fantastic, the dialogue was great and some of the banter hilarious. The side characters were all really good and it was a lovely touch to include some characters we've met before in the bet series. I've missed Grandma Nadine. There were also some rather interesting characters from the animal kingdom that added to the fun.

There was romance, some emotional times and lots of humour. A perfect blend for me. I was sucked straight in and finished in one sitting. I finished with a great big cheesy grin on my face. The best way to finish IMO.

This is a great start to a new series and I'm looking forward to the next story. This book is a standalone with a complete story.

I would definitely recommend this to fans of good romance with a fairy tale twist.
