Blog Tour & Review - Deep Redemption By Tillie Cole

He was born to ascend.
He was destined to lead.
He was never meant to fail.

Prophet Cain lies broken and defeated on the floor of his cell. A cell he has been thrown into by the one person who was supposed to stand by his side until the end. His flesh and blood, his only companion. His beloved twin brother.

Cain has sacrificed everything for his people. He left the safety and security of his life of study to infiltrate the infamous Hades Hangmen. He lived with them, rode with them, and then betrayed them. All in the name of a faith he can now feel slipping away from him. Like everything else he once held dear…

But then his isolation is broken. Another prisoner is brought to the cell next to his. A woman fighting her own demons and fears. A woman who Cain understands needs him, as he needs her.

As the connection between them grows, so does Cain’s resolve. He will right the wrongs he has done. He will atone for the evil acts carried out in his name. He will save the one he loves…

… Even if the battle takes him to the gates of hell itself.

Deep Redemption (Hades Hangmen, #4)Deep Redemption by Tillie Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! Where do I start? lol.

Okay, before I start my review 'proper' I'm going to say that I'm a spoiler queen. I love them. Weird yeah? I actually read the end of every book I start before the beginning. I can't stand not knowing the resolution, but, like I said, I'm weird like that, but I prefer to think of it as special lol.

This book was different. I really didn't want to know. I wanted to go in completely blind and see how it would pan out. I'm so, so, so glad I did because it made each and every second of this book so much more enjoyable. So if your looking for any hints you won't get them here but, trust me on this, it'll be so worth it. It actually shows what trust I have in this authors writing that I could throw aside my normal anal hang ups and simply go in on blind faith. There's not many authors out there that I could say that about.

So basically I'm going to say nothing at all about the plot of this book save that it is Rider/Cain's story. Love him or hate him you can't help being drawn to his character, at least I couldn't. I knew that this book would be an emotional roller coaster and I wasn't disappointed. I never actually hated him though. I don't really believe in good and bad. To me you can't have one without the other but it's all about the balance and which side inevitably wins in the end.

I'm a huge fan of Tillie Cole's writing. She is an amazingly skilled story weaver with a magical talent for writing dynamic three dimensional characters that you have to get invested in. You have no choice. Whether you love them or loathe them, they consume you equally. Add to this her intricately woven plots which leave you on the edge of your seat gasping with joy and pain and wonder at every twist and turn the story takes. There are many revelations in this story that will definitely surprise and even shock you but oh! What an amazing journey!

This series just keeps getting better and better. Don't get me wrong these books deal with very dark themes and generally I avoid 'dark' reads as I feel that some can be written gratuitously, which is not something that I enjoy. That is not the case here. The darkness is necessary to the plot and is written in a way that only makes you appreciate the writing skill more. Everything is also perfectly researched and, because of that, it just works.

This book really does not work as a standalone in my opinion. You need the back story of the characters from the other books to appreciate this more.

I don't tend to suffer from book hangovers but this book pulled me in so completely that I still haven't been able to get into anything else which is almost unheard of for me. It was so perfect I simply didn't want it to end. 5 stars are not enough for this.

I finished this in one sitting and couldn't even sleep afterwards. If you haven't tried this series yet then I genuinely urge you to give it a go, even if it doesn't sound like something you'd usually like. As I said the writing is so good you can't help but be drawn into it.

I love everything that Tillie Cole has written over a diverse array of genres. I honestly don't think there's anything she cannot write, but I think this may have just pipped Sweet Hope to my favourite book of hers. It is, to me, the best book she has written so far. It was perfect.

I heartily recommend this and I cannot wait for the next book in this addictive series.
