My ReviewWith the Band by Natasha Preston
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is the first book I've read by this author but I've heard good things so I thought I'd give it a go as I love a rocker romance. I was happy that I went ahead as I enjoyed this a lot.
Texas is traveling with her father, a famous rocker, on tour with the band the he mentors. She's grown up around rockers so this shouldn't be a problem. Except that she has had a major crush on the lead singer of the group for 2 years. She's worried about giving away how she feels but things get more complicated when she finds out that maybe things aren't as one-sided as she thought.
This book is well written with good, witty dialogue. I liked the secondary characters a lot and would love to hear more about the other guys in the band. Kitt and Texas were great and I loved the attraction and tension between them. Texas did annoy me sometimes with her over the top reactions to things but on the whole was a good character.
The plot for the first half of this book was great with plenty of hot moments and tension. I do think in the second half the plot lost its way a little. Some of the conflict was, to me, a bit unbelievable and blown a little bit out of proportion. As I said before the writing was very good and I loved the ending so it was too bad.
Overall an enjoyable read. I would definitely read more from these guys in the future if any came out.
