Review - The Score (Of Campus #3) By Elle Kennedy - Released Today!
He knows how to score, on and off the ice
Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she's going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.
It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over
Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I've loved this series so far and couldn't wait for this one. I wasn't disappointed. In fact this may be my favourite of the series so far. It's a close call lol.
This story follows Allie and Dean. We've met them before in the series and I was intrigued to see what their story would tell.
After a messy breakup with her boyfriend Allie hides out at her friends boyfriends house. It ends up turning into a bit of a rebound fling with his room mate Dean, college hockey player and local manwhore. Allie is not a one night stand type of girl and vows to put this embarrassing, if enjoyable, glitch behind her. Dean has other ideas ;o)
I loved reading their story. Their banter was hilarious. I laughed out loud on many occassions. I loved learning more about Dean and what made him tick. He had a lot of hidden depths that I wasn't expecting while still remaining his typical slutty self. He was a great character and I liked him a lot more than I was expecting.
Allie was great too. She was stronger and sassier than I anticipated but also vulnerable as well. I loved their chemistry and watching their story progress.
It was great to catch up and meet with other characters in the series from previous and, I suspect, future books. They're a great crowd and I enjoyed their group dynamic.
The writing was great and the plot moved along well. I read this in one sitting and enjoyed every minute. It was funny, sweet with plenty of hotness but was also emotional at times.
This is a brilliant addition to the series and I would definitely recommend to romance fans. I can't wait for he next book in the series.
