A few interesting facts about Author J.S. Scott
Author J.S.Scott trained and worked for years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist before becoming an Author.
She self published in April 2012 with no experience at all. “I put together my own bad covers and edited the stories myself. (Big mistake!) I used KDP Select when I first started and offered up the stories for free, alternating the freebies. To my surprise… I actually started selling some books.”  Then she really hit it when she started working on a serial romance trilogy that readers started to follow enthusiastically — The Billionaire’s Obsession, which she eventually packaged into a “complete set” last February, selling the lot for one very low price. “I was lucky enough to have the book sell very well… well enough to hit the USA Today and NYT Bestsellers. Since then, I’ve written complete novels that have also done well.”
All the books that she writes almost always feature an Alpha Male and have a happily ever after because she just can't seem to write them any other way!

My Review

No Ordinary Billionaire (The Sinclairs, #1)No Ordinary Billionaire by J.S. Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I've been a big fan of J. S. Scott's books for a good while now and I was super excited to read this. This is the first full length novel in her new series The Sinclair's, a spin-off series from her awesome Billionaire's Obsession series.

Dante Sinclair is a homicide cop. Grieved and embittered by recent events that left his best friend and partner dead, and Dante himself injured. He has come to Amesport to lick his wounds, both physical and mental and is not handling it well.

Sarah Baxter is a doctor. A former prodigal child, she moved to Amesport to start a quieter, less complicated life. She is employed to oversee Dante's recovery as his new doctor. Dante is not very impressed with this idea but it's complicated so much more by their almost instant attraction to each other.

I loved Dante and Sarah's characters and their chemistry is sizzling hot. Dante is gruff and growly, consumed with guilt over his friends death, a typical alpha male, but fiercely protective and sweet underneath. Sarah is a sweetheart. She is strong but kind and even though she's super talented she still has doubts and fears that I could connect with.

The secondary characters were also very good and I loved catching up with Dante's brother Grady and his wife Emily who we first met in the novella The Billionaire's Christmas.

The plot is great. It pulls you in immediately and has lots of passion and romance but also some action and suspense as well. I really enjoy J. S. Scott's writing style and storytelling skill. Her dialogue is always great and enhances the story. The interaction between Dante and Sarah was sexy and fun.

I enjoyed this a lot. Even though it's part of a series it can be read as a standalone. I would recommend to readers who love a good romance that will leave you with a smile on your face.

5 Stars from me. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series :)

Her breath gasped out of her in a sudden hiss, dying off to a gargled cry as the cage inside of her burst open. Every kill, every emotion she’d locked away, burst out.
Her foot hit the break before he’d even jumped in her path – because she knew he was here. There was only one person in the world who could strip away every shield she’d wrapped around herself. Only one person who could reach her soul, her heart through the mountain of pain and torment inside of her.
“Linc,” she cried breathlessly, her eyes searching the dark night.
Finding the glow of his eyes first, Lexia stared as the black panther loped out of the trees, flashing his eyes at her.
He’d found her. After all this time, he’d found her. Stepping out of the vehicle in a daze, the torrential rain soaked her clothes instantly. Her feet struggled to find footing in the sodden earth.  She walked toward the majestic cat. Standing in the beam of the headlights, overcome with emotions, she was stripped of words, lost in the chaos of her mind.
“Linc,” Lexia whispered, afraid her dream may shatter into a million pieces, but Lincoln wasn’t a dream. He’d found her – just like she always knew he would. Her past had been galloping toward her and had finally collided.
“Lexia?” Derrick murmured softly, placing his hand on her shoulder. The caring gesture snapped her out the daze.
“Take your hand from my mate, hunter,” Lincoln growled as he suddenly shifted.
“Lincoln, leave him,” she said, taking a tentative step toward him. “What are you doing here?” She sighed longingly.
“I promised you I’d never let the darkness take you. You are mine, Lex. The hunters can’t have you.”
Sucked back to a memory, Lexia dropped to her knees screaming, the skull-cracking pain in her head too much to bear. She could hear Lincoln and Derrick shouting at her, but she’d lost all control of her body. Falling forward, her hands gripped the ground as they were swallowed by thick mud.
She sat in Lincoln’s arms. His warmth seeped into her bones, warming her down to her very soul.
“Killing is never easy, Lex, but sometimes it’s necessary. Sometimes we have no choice. You have to find balance, find a way to deal with it before it destroys you.”
“No, Linc, you’re wrong. The killing, that’s easy. To me it’s as natural as breathing. Admitting deep down inside to enjoying it, to relish in the power I have over people, that’s the hard part. That part will destroy me, because one day, I might stop being disgusted with myself. One day, I might truly be lost and every kill – every life I take – will give me pleasure, make me smile. I hope that day never comes.”
“Lexia,” he whispered.
“Just give me space, Linc, please?” She rose from his lap, feeling like she didn’t deserve his love.
“Lexia, that will never happen. Are you listening? I will never let that happen.”
The memory broke free the feelings she’d hidden inside of her. Gripping her head, she rocked as she remembered faces of the dead, their screams, their pleas, and her joy.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered to them. “I’m so sorry.” Dragging in a deep breath in hopes of calming herself, she concentrated to the frantic beating of her heart. Each pump whooshed in her ears, drowning out the memories.
Her eyes found Lincoln. Remembering how he’d smiled, how his eyes would burn with desire…she remembered every sweet smile, every caress. Oh, how she missed his touch, missed feeling like the most treasured person in the world.
It didn’t matter how much it hurt to feel as she did around him. It didn’t matter how many people Maura had killed with her hands. Lincoln had the power to reach through every layer of darkness. There was no power equal to his love.
The words slipped from her mouth before she could stop them. “My pretty panther,” she said on a broken sob. Sitting back on her heels, she looked up at him as he took a step toward her. Rain mixed with the tears running down her face as she remained powerless to move.
Lincoln dropped to his knees with a pained cry, his eyes looking vulnerably human. Unable to speak, she smiled through her sobs, tilting her head ever so slightly before giving in and falling into his arms. Pulling back, she stared into his eyes, her fingers touching his face, as he touched hers, lips crashing together in desperation. They kissed, rain dripping from their hair, mingling with their tears.
The rain blinded them and froze their tortured souls. It was tragic and divine, and as they pulled apart, Lexia felt herself fracture. Every broken, patched back together piece of her fell apart. Her power left her in a broken cry as her eyes turned blue. She fell onto her hands, resting her head against his chest.
“Linc, you should have never come. Why did you come? You’ve put yourself in danger,” she said against his chest, taking every effort to keep the tremble from her words, yet failing.
“How could I just leave you? Come with me, Lex,” he begged.
“I can’t. It’s not that simple.” She wished there was some other way. Wished she had somehow ended up in a universe where her ledger was clean.

Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway - Sweet Hope (Sweet Home #4) By Tillie Cole

Title: Sweet Hope
Series: Sweet Home #4
Author: Tillie Cole
Age group: New adult
Genre: Contemporary romance
Release date: 29th March 2015

From the USA Today Bestselling Sweet Home Series, comes Sweet Hope.

My name is Ally Prince and I've always been unlucky in love. I don’t know why, I just always… have.

When all of my best friends were falling for their soul mates in College, I was left behind. I was Ally, the pretty cousin of superstar quarterback, Romeo Prince. I was Ally, the best friend to the most amazing group of girls I've ever known—a title I loved, but one I became tired of 'just' being. And I was Ally, the one on which they could all rely.

But to me, I was Ally, the girl with the heart no one had claimed... And I was, Ally, the girl, who underneath it all, was heart-breakingly lonely.

I LOVE love; the thought of it, the nervous excitement of falling for Mr. Right, the desire of someone becoming my entire world... of me becoming theirs. I’ve always wanted passion, heart-stopping, epic, life-changing romance... I’ve always wanted the fairytale… I’ve always wanted it all.

It just never seemed like I would get it.

For the past few years I've thrown myself into my career as a museum curator. I’m the best of the best, the person every museum wants to hire, so when an opportunity came up to move to Seattle, I jumped at the chance. My cousin and my best friend lived in Seattle and I needed a change.

I needed a new beginning.

I wasn't expecting to meet anyone in the Emerald City. I wasn't expecting to work closely with the reclusive new sculptor my all-important gallery design was centered around. And I certainly wasn't expecting to fall for him... heart-stopping, epic, life-changing love...
My real life fairytale come true.

But, like in every fairytale, there’s a villain, a dark and tortured soul... I just didn't know that the villain and the hero in my story would end up being one and the same.

New Adult Romance Novel—contains adult content, sexual situations and mature topics. Suited for ages 18 and up.

As the curtains closed behind me, I jumped in surprise when I caught movement ahead.
My eyes slowly traveled upward to a pair of legs clad in black jeans, to a sculpted waist and torso covered in a short-sleeved black shirt splashed in what looked like marble dust.
My heart was in my throat as I drank in large arm muscles, sculpted and pronounced under heavily tattooed olive skin. My gaze drifted to a muscular tattooed neck, partially covered by a dark short scruffy beard and shoulder-length dark brown hair.

I had to blink to believe the man I’d wanted to meet for years was really standing right in front of me. I forgot how to breathe. I forgot how to speak, move, or anything else that should come naturally to a human being.

Elpidio’s head was down, avoiding my gaze, but I knew he knew I was there. Every inch of his body was taut, as if ready to spring.

My voice failed to work as I watched his broad chest rise and fall. Then, with deliberate slowness, he exhaled harshly through his nostrils and lifted his head.

I nearly staggered back.

He was… dark. There was no other adjective I could think of to do him justice. Dark, aggressively tattooed, and absolutely yet unconventionally… beautiful.

Elpidio was as inspiring to look at as his sculptures, and when his almost-black eyes pierced mine, I released a pent up shuddering breath.

I thought my legs would give way as I watched those curious onyx irises rove all over my body. I trembled under his scrutiny, knees weak, heart fluttering.

Italian, I thought. Austin had been right. Elpidio definitely looked Italian.

It felt as though minutes passed in silence as we stood motionless, not knowing what to say.
Trying to salvage a modicum of professionalism, I snapped out of my stupor and stepped forward, timidly holding out my hand.

“Hello…” I said in a cracking voice.

Elpidio’s stern gaze never once drifted from mine, his dark eyes stabbing. “I’m Aliyana. You… you must be Elpidio?”

In a second, I witnessed paleness spread on his cheeks and his eyes dropped to the ground, his shoulder-length brown hair falling to cover his face. He was protecting his anonymity. Vin had told me how uncomfortable he was with any acclaim or recognition. His mentor clearly wasn’t lying.

“It’s okay,” I rushed out. “I’m the curator of your exhibition. Your being here stays with me. I’m ethically bound to protect your anonymity if you so wish.”

Elpidio’s shoulders seemed to relax some at that, and sighing reluctantly, he raked back his long hair from his face and raised his head.

This time I could see him more clearly. He was ruggedly edgy, and on his left cheek, he wore a tattoo of a black crucifix just below his eye. He simply screamed danger. His eyes were unnervingly assessing as though he had no trust in me, or toward anyone else for that matter.

Suddenly, Elpidio reached forward and encased his hand in mine. When our hands touched, I lightly gasped, the heat of his palm searing. I’d forgotten I’d been holding my hand out to greet him, too entranced by his unrefined looks and silent temperament.

“Aliyana,” he said gruffly. My heart skipped a beat on hearing his husky drawl.

Amazon & USA Today Best Selling Author, Tillie Cole, is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.

Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.

Having been born and raised as a Teesside Smoggie, Tillie, at age nineteen, moved forty miles north to the 'Toon', Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where she attended Newcastle University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Religious Studies. She returned two years later to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching High School Social Studies. Tillie, regards Newcastle to be a home from home and enjoyed the Newcastle Geordie way of life for seven 'proper mint' and 'lush' years.

One summers day, after finishing reading her thousandth book on her much loved and treasured Kindle, Tillie turned to her husband and declared, "D'you know, I have a great idea for a story. I could write a book." Several months later, after repeating the same tired line at the close of another completed story, she was scolded by her husband to shut up talking about writing a novel and "just bloody do it!" For the first time in eleven years, Tillie actually took his advice (he is still trying to get over the shock) and immediately set off on a crazy journey, delving deep into her fertile imagination.

Tillie, ever since, has written from the heart. She combines her passion for anything camp and glittery with her love of humour and dark brooding men (most often muscled and tattooed – they’re her weakness!). She also has a serious side (believe it or not!) and loves to immerse herself in the complex study of World Religions, History and Cultural Studies and creates fantasy stories that enable her to thread serious issues and topics into her writing -- yep, there's more to this girl than profanity and sparkles!

After six years of teaching high school Social Studies and following her Professional Rugby Player husband around Europe, they have finally given up their nomadic way of life and settled in Calgary, Alberta where Tillie spends most of her days (and many a late night) lost in a writing euphoria or pursuing a dazzling career as a barrel-racing, tasselled-chap wearing, Stetson-sporting cowgirl... Ye-haw!

I've been looking forward to reading this for what seems like a long time, so when it popped up on my kindle I dove straight in. I've previously read the other books in the series and was dying to read Ally's story and find out the identity of her mystery man.

I wasn't disappointed.

We have met Ally before in the series as she is the cousin of Rome, the hero of Sweet Home and also the friend of his heroine Molly and Lexi, the heroine of Sweet Fall.

The story begins 5 years after the events of Sweet Fall. Ally is now a museum curator and when an opportunity arises to oversea an exhibition of the reclusive sculptor Elpidio, whose works she has fallen in love with, she literally drops everything and jumps at the chance. An added bonus is that the exhibit will be in Seattle, giving her a chance to catch up with Rome and Molly, and also Austin and Lexi, who have recently moved there too.

She is fascinated and awed at the tragic beauty of the mysterious Elpidio's work. When she discovers that the man himself has been visiting the museum late at night to check on the exhibit she stays and waits for him, desperate to meet the artist whose works have touched her soul.

And so their journey begins.

This is a great, emotional story that grabs you from the first. It sucked me in completely until the world outside almost disappeared.  I finished it in one sitting.

I've loved Ally from the first book and enjoyed learning more about the real her in this. Tillie Cole has a great knack of writing wonderful, perfectly flawed 3 dimensional characters that you can instantly connect with. You laugh with them, cry with them and truly are invested in their lives. Ally is kind but has a sassy side. She's caring but also strong and not afraid to stand up for what she believes in, which stands her in good stead in this story. She is aching to find that lifelong, all-consuming love that her friends have found.

Elpidio. Beautiful, tortured Elpidio. Where do I start with him? When I read Sweet Home I was convinced that no one could beat Rome. Then along came Austin in Sweet Fall and I felt pretty much the same, but I have to say that Elpi has stolen a big piece of my heart. He is tormented with pain and guilt from his tragic past. He cannot move on and feels he doesn't deserve the recognition and adoration his work has attracted. I'm not going to say who he is because that moment in the book when I realised was really special and I would love it if everyone had that moment too. Besides I'm sure others will quickly spill the beans and I personally loved the mystery and discovery. It made his journey in the book, to me anyway, that much more enjoyable and poignant. We have met him before though and he turns out to be so much more than I expected.

This is a beautiful, emotional story. Be prepared for lots of tissues, but having said that the story was full of hope and left me feeling lifted at the end. The title is very apt.

"Hope is a fervent, silent wish, that everything will turn out just as you dream..."

I love this line. To me it embodies the whole soul of the story.

As usual the writing is excellent and the plot and story flow along to a great conclusion. It was really good to catch up with the lives of the other characters in the series. Cass still makes me laugh out loud.

You really need to read Sweet Fall before this as it adds so much to the story.

I give this wonderful story 5 stars. I would give it more if I could. I look forward to reading more from this great author :)
