My Review:

Tycoon Takedown (Lone Star Burn, #2)Tycoon Takedown by Ruth Cardello
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I'm already a fan of Ruth Cardello''s books and I was looking forward to this. I enjoyed it a lot.

Melanie travels from her Texan town to New York to track down the father of her child and tell him about his son. Charles is Melanie's best friends brother who asks him to look out for her friend while she is there and that is where the fun starts.

Charles and Melanie are both great characters with plenty of depth and I could connect easily with them. They were believable and had doubts and fears that I could connect with. The secondary characters were also good and added depth to the story.

The story itself is written well. The plot flows along nicely with lots of romance and hotness plus some pitfalls to overcome. I was immediately sucked in and invested with the characters and story. There were moments of laughter, more poignant parts and most other things in between. There was great chemistry between Charles and Melanie and I enjoyed reading as their romance blossomed.

I have read the first book in this series but I don't think it's required before you read this. It can easily be read as a standalone.

All in all this was a really good read that I enjoyed and would definitely recommend. I look forward to more great books from this author :)
