My Review:
This is the first book I have read from this author and overall it was pretty good.
Luke and Phoebe have been neighbours and best friends all their lives. Phoebe has battled with Illness and Luke has been her rock throughout. Phoebe is a talented ballet dancer and Luke encourages her to pursue her talent. Both knew they were destined to be a couple but circumstances and tragic events get in the way.
The premise of this story is good and it's written pretty well but it all seemed a little rushed to me. It packed in a lot of events but the book itself was not very long. I would have liked more to flesh it out. Because of this I had some difficulty connecting with the characters at times and questioned some of their decisions as well. I needed some more from them emotionally. I wanted to really feel what made them tick. It was almost there but as I said it just needed a little more. I found that we were too quickly thrown into the events before really understanding the characters inner dynamics. I do tend to be very character driven in my reading and not everyone will see this the same as me I'm sure. As I stated before the plot was pretty good.
The story itself flowed along well and the writing style was easy to read. There was nothing that truly wowed me but there was also nothing that I really disliked.
This was a nice read but, to me, I just wanted that little bit more. I would probably read more from this author and I think that new adult romance fans would enjoy this story :)
