My Review

Well first things first this is a re telling of Thoughtless from Kellan's PoV. In the past some other books I have read from different PoV's from the original have tended to be a bit of a disappointment in my eyes but not so with this one. It didn't disappoint at all.

I've read the previous books and enjoyed but it's been a good while since I have and I was debating whether to read again before starting this but decided against it. I'm glad I did as I went in fresh and it was almost like reading the story as new again.

Quick plot recap - Kellan Kyle,  lead singer in an up and coming band is looking for a new roommate. As luck would have it his childhood friend Denny and girlfriend Keira are looking for somewhere cheap and convenient to stay. Kellan feels indebted to Denny, has great respect for him as a friend  and is pleased to be able to offer them the room. A perfect solution to all their problems. Until he meets Keira and is instantly drawn to her in a way he never has been with anyone before. What transpires is a major emotional roller coaster of a ride. I'm not normally a fan of love triangles but you can't really fail to be drawn in to this.

I think I'm in the minority because I've never hated Keira's character. I actually felt a lot of affinity to her. Did I want to slap her about the head? Constantly! But there were times I wanted to do the same to Kellan as well, and I loved his character. I admire S. C. Stephens and how she can write characters that you can get so passionate about. Whether that's good or bad passion it shows great writing skill. I will let these characters off for their mistakes and imperfections because their young. Did I make mistakes at their age? Hell yes! Was I perfect? Not by a long shot. I think the story and characters were written perfectly for their age and environment. And if it had all gone easily the book wouldn't have been nearly as compelling. And a lot shorter lol.

All the characters in this story, including all the secondary's were each unique and well rounded. The story itself is written well and the plot flowed along.

This is an emotional read that will have you on the edge of your seat. I laughed and cried and swore at my kindle, much to my families amusement. I'm sure they're pretty sure I'm a lunatic lol.

It was like meeting friends again after a long time apart but also the different PoV put a great new slant on things.

I'm sure that most reading this would be like me and have read Thoughtless first but if you haven't I see no reason that you couldn't read this first but I would definitely recommend reading Thoughtless as well. It has added depth to me to read both sides.

I really enjoyed this, as I did the other books in the series and give this 5 resounding stars.
